Mens Style Blog

The stylish commencement of Mr. Gentry opens with a telling tale of hearty practice in mens style thinking. Mr. Gentry is the anonymous name used to bring style musings and insider observations from the working world of our industry to the outside net. Defined as being "the condition or rank of a gentleman", my interpretation is a classically style minded man with a urban interest of dress who pursues the Gentry Style. Mr. Gentry is not just about things being in the "Now", this is simply because by the time I have finished typing the word now its too late, now is already then.

The Wonder of MJOLK S/S 2010

Mjolk: Swedish/Brit origins, Australian rooted, now housed in New York and one of my ultimate favorite menswear labels.

In 2003 directional designers Lars Stoten (the Swede) and John Clarke (the Brit) founded the Mjolk label in Sweden. Moving to Australia they dared the native men & women to dress outside their usual realm of generic clothing and made a global name for themselves in the process. Known for its suiting, the label is a fine producer to quality construction, attention detailing and though about fabrics. The look is slim and crafted with a colourful edge thrown in to brighten up any mans wardrobe without making them run scared!
Now, the Spring 2010 collection has finally surfaced and sees the perfect summer dressing; vest and tees in stripes, light shaded whites and tan, trousers with drop crotches and low slung waists, broad tailored outerwear and waist cut jackets all nicely slung together with a tied-up belted jolt adding the relaxed structure of another marvelous collection.
